U’khand doing 60% less tests
Though the number of new cases of Covid 19 cases in Uttarakhand have reduced substantially, a big drop in the number of tests for the disease remains a cause for concern. The data shows that in the week ending July 28, only 1,06756 samples were tested for Covid. The tests have shown a big drop in last few weeks. In the week corresponding to July 25 to 31, a total of 1,83,310 tests were carried out which have now reduced to only 1,06,756. It is worth mentioning here that the state government has given a target of 40,000 tests a day to the health department which means it should do at least 2,80000 tests in a week. At about 1 lakh tests a week, the department is doing 60 per cent less tests in a week.
