In latest Dehradun news, in a major development, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will operate, develop and manage the Naini Saini airport in Pithoragarh district. In this mater, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) and AAI at the State Secretariat in Dehradun in the presence of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. For UCADA, its CEO C Ravi Shankar and for AAI its executive director N V Subbarayudu signed the MoU. Speaking on the occasion, CM said that he had earlier requested the Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to the effect that AAI should take over the operation and management of this airport and up-grade it. He expressed the hope that AAI would soon start operating flights from this airport.
