The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demostrated on Thursday demanding the removal of the chief election commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar. Party workers held demonstrations at Dehradun district headquarters and burnt effigies of the Central government, alleging questions had been raised over the functioning of the Election Commission. In Dehradun, the protest was held at Lansdowne Chowk under the leadership of AAP State president Uma Gaud Sisodia.

Sisodia said that elections were the most important process in a democracy and any questions over the impartiality of the Election Commission of India were a serious concern.
