AAP workers take out peace, unity march on Gandhi Jayanti

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers of the Cantonment Assembly constituency took out a peace and unity march on Friday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, spreading the messages that he had espoused.

The march started from the FRI gate and passed through Vasant Vihar and Indira Nagar before concluding at the ITBP. The party workers raised slogans including those promoting communal harmony and brotherhood.

The AAP Mahanagar president Sanjay Kshetri opined that Gandhi had united the country during the freedom movement by following the path of truth and non-violence. He said that strengthening peace, equality, harmony and brotherhood in society was the true tribute to Gandhi. 

AAP State treasurer Sharad Jain said that democracy was strengthened not only through political institutions but also through mutual trust, respect and dialogue. He said that Gandhi had advocated the rights of weaker and deprived sections and stressed the need to ensure justice and dignity for the last person in society. The party workers pledged to work towards strengthening peace, harmony and brotherhood in society and spreading Gandhi’s message of truth and non-violence.
