Braving the adverse conditions, the Army jawans and the Gurdwara volunteers are carrying on with their work to clear snow on the Aastha Path leading to Hemkund Sahib. They say that a stretch of just two and half kilometres is left to be cleared of the piled- up snow. “We are working under extremely adverse climatic condition amid continuous snowfall. Still, we are working day and night to complete the work,” said an Army officer. Notably, the portals of Hemkund Sahib are opening for the devotees on May 23.
The president of Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Trust, Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra sounded grateful to the Amy. “They are working hard; our volunteers are also working hard. It has been snowing here for the past two days, but the work to clear the Aastha Path of snow is continuing in full swing,” he added.
