In a significant enhancement to rail connectivity, Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a halt for the Achhnera-Tanakpur Express at Banbasa railway station, following a request from chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The minister formally notified the CM about this decision in an official letter.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vaishnaw for this development, the CM stated that this halt will greatly benefit the people of the border area, including traders, students, families of military personnel and devotees. He further added that with the addition of this stop at Banbasa railway station, rail connectivity in the Kumaon region will be further strengthened, providing greater convenience for local residents.
