The official driver of the Haridwar additional chief medical officer allegedly murdered his live-in partner late on the intervening night of Thursday- Friday.
The victim has been identified as Pinky (35), who was a resident of the Shivali Colony area and ran a beauty parlour.The alleged murderer was caught by the police on Friday. According to official sources, Mukesh Pujari was working as a driver in the district hospital and was in a live-in relationship with Pinky.
The couple had an argument late on Thursday night after which Pujari allegedly strangled her to death. The police reportedly received information about the crime at 5 AM on Friday. The police team reached the scene of the crime, took possession of the body and sent it for post mortem examination.
According to the police, love affair and a dispute have emerged as the reasons for the crime. The accused is being questioned and further details about the murder will be ascertained after the post mortem report is received, the police said.
