ACS Bardhan directs departments to use e- office system

The additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan directed departmental officials to use the e-office system. He chaired a meeting at the State secretariat on Thursday in which he reviewed the implementation of various schemes of different departments. In the meeting, the ACS sought information about air connectivity saturation, construction of crash barriers, furniture in schools, unsafe bridges, solar energy saturation, implementation of e-office system in government offices, setting up of self employment centres, construction of Panchayat Bhawan, construction of libraries, setting up of theme based science and innovation centres in districts, construction of indoor and open stadiums and auditoriums was sought by the ACS.
The officers informed Bardhan that work is underway at a fast pace for achieving saturation of helicopter services in all the districts. He was informed that the Public Works Department (PWD) has marked 94 bridges as unsafe and out of them renovation of 34 bridges has been done. The construction of crash barriers in all the earmarked places will be completed.
In the meeting the ACS directed that the officers should dispose off most of their work by the e- offices. He was informed that digitisation of land records and other government documents is being done in a phased manner and will be completed in two years.
The officers of the Education department informed that the budget for the furniture has been approved and soon the furniture will be sent to the schools. The officials further informed that 12 MW solar plants have been installed in the government schools and this year a target of installing 15.5 MW solar plants in 2074 schools has been taken. The ACS directed that an action plan for the solar plant installation should be prepared.
The ACS was also informed about the bio fencing being undertaken by the agriculture, horticulture and forest departments. He directed that complete details about the places and the species used for bio fencing should be provided.
The ACS was informed in the meeting that 13 employment exchanges are being developed as self employment centres in the State. These centres will be equipped with libraries and facilities of video conferencing. The officers of Panchayati Raj department informed that a target for construction of 250 Panchayat Bhawans has been taken. Bardhan directed that an action for the Panchayat Bhawans should be prepared.
Secretaries SN Pandey, Vinod Kumar Suman, additional secretary C Ravi Shankar, Rajana Rajguru and officers of departments concerned attended the meeting.
