Advertising private websites banned on Corbett safari Gypsies

The Gypsies taking tourists on safaris in Corbett national park will not be allowed to carry stickers of commercial or personal websites. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating this direction.

A total of 385 Gypsies are registered across all tourism zones of Corbett. These vehicles are authorised to take tourists on jungle safaris to view the park’s rich wildlife. However, some drivers had displayed the names of local tour and travel websites on their vehicles. This practice reportedly led to several instances of fraud, where tourists were duped of large sums of money by people misusing Corbett’s name.

Eco-Tourism ranger Lalit Arya informed that to prevent such incidents, all Gypsy owners have now been instructed to display only the official Corbett National Park website’s address on their vehicles. Any vehicle found promoting other websites will face disciplinary action.
