Expedite computerisation of MPACS: CS to Cooperative department

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed the Cooperative department to expedite the work of computerisation of multipurpose primary agricultural credit society (MPACS) in the State . He gave the order while chairing a review meeting of the department at the State secretariat on Tuesday.
He said that all the physical data should be closed from January 01, 2026 and the computerisation work and data migration of MPACS should be completed by December 31, 2025. He said that regular monitoring should be done so that computerization and updating of data is completed on time. The CS said that the District Magistrate and District Level Cooperative Officer in the districts and the Secretary at the state level will monitor the computerisation work. He said that a timeline should be set for updating the data and it should be circulated to everyone.
The CS said that new MPACSs, dairy and fisheries committees should be set up to increase the reach of cooperative institutions to untouched village Panchayat. He added that the milk production and quality should be improved through modern techniques. He said that there is a need to work towards empowering women and rural families by promoting dairy as a sustainable livelihood.
Bardhan expressed dismay at the low transactions in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras being run through MPACS and directed the officers to set targets for increasing it. He said that efforts should be made to increase the monthly transactions of the Jan Aushadhi Kendras under the MPACS to Rs two crore by December 2025.
Principal Secretary L Fenai, secretary BVRC Purushottam, chief general manager (CGM) NABARD Pankaj Yadav, registrar Cooperative Societies Meharban Singh Bisht and additional secretary Himanshu Khurana along with other senior officers and DMs from the districts were present through video conferencing.
