Edu dept to introduce online leave system for teachers, employees

In a major step in the direction of ensuring transparency in the functioning of the school Education department, the State government has decided to make the process of taking leaves by the teachers and non-teaching staff in the government schools online. The department will soon introduce an online leave management module on its digital platform of Vidhya Sameeksha Kendra (VSK). The teachers and other employees of the department will have to apply for leave on this platform.
After its introduction the teachers and employees will have to apply for their casual leave, earned leave, medical leave, maternity leave and child care leave in an online mode.
Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is promoting digital governance in the education system in order to make it transparent, efficient and accountable. He said that after the introduction of an online leave management module, the teachers will be able to apply for leave from anywhere and anytime. Rawat said that the system of leave approval too will be kept online. The minister claimed that the entire process of taking leave and its approval will be simple, transparent and time bound. He said that teachers will not have to make rounds of the offices for approval of their leaves. Rawat added that the new system of leave will also ensure that the records of the teachers and employees related to leaves will be safe and arranged.
The minister said that the officers of the department have been directed to introduce the online system of leave in a phased manner. It will help in taking forward the department in the direction of e- governance, he said.
