All 10 accused arrested in ex-serviceman’s murder in Doon

Dehradun police have arrested one more accused in the murder case of a retired brigadier in the Johri village area, taking the total number of arrests to 10. The incident took place on March 30, in Johri when Mukesh Kumar Joshi (74) was on a morning walk and was hit by a bullet during a firing incident. He later succumbed to his injuries.

According to the police, a case was registered at Rajpur police station on the complaint of the victim’s family. The police had earlier arrested nine accused and sent them to jail. The last accused, Vaibhav Kumar, was absconding after the incident. Police teams were continuously searching for him and finally arrested him from the Rajpur area on April 5. With this arrest, all the accused involved in the case have been caught. Police have taken all 10 accused on remand under murder charges, and further investigation in the case is ongoing. Notably, on March 30, police found that the firing happened after a dispute between two groups over a bill at the Gen-Z bar, which was later sealed by the police. The next morning, both groups chased each other in vehicles, and during this, firing took place in which Joshi was hit by a bullet.
