Congress leader Abhinav Thapar has alleged irregularities in allotment of a 98.5 acre government land in IT Park Sahastradhara road in Dehradun. Addressing a Press conference at Congress Bhawan here on Thursday, he claimed that the value of this land is about Rs 4,000 crore.
Thapar said that he filed a RTI query in 2023 in which information about the process of allotment, approval order, note sheets and other documents was sought from the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (SIIDCUL). Thapar said that when no information was provided, he filed a first appeal on which the SIIDCUL informed through letters dated May 30, 2024 and May 31, 2025 that the file related to the allotment of aforesaid land is not available in its office.
The Congress leader said that a second appeal was filed in the office of chief information commissioner (CIC). In the hearing, the SIIDCUL maintained that it has no file related to selection of Ms Feedback Ventures Private Limited for allotment of land. On August 5, 2025, the CIC ordered that a FIR should be registered regarding the missing file. Following the order, the file which was untraceable for more than two years was traced by the SIIDCUL from its office. Thapar said that the CIC in its last order in the case dated September 16, 2025 directed the SIIDCUL to provide information and certified copies of the files free of cost but the order is yet to be followed.
Thapar demanded that the government should order a high level inquiry in the case where the officers are not following the orders of the CIC. He said that a FIR against the officers who virtually sat over the file for two years should be registered. Thapar added that the entire case reeks of corruption and the Congress party will not allow the scam to get buried.
