Ardh Kumbh: Minister discusses preparations with ascetics

The Urban Development Minister Ram Singh Kaira met members of religious fraternity and representatives of various akharas here regarding preparations for the Ardh Kumbh Mela 2027. The meeting reviewed the permanent and temporary construction works related to the upcoming religious congregation and discussed the suggestions, which came from the Haridwar-based religious fraternity.

Kaira stated that the Kumbh is not merely a religious event but the most significant festival of Sanatan culture. “The state government led by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been working hard to ensure a memorable mela for devotees,” he added.

He informed that work on all infrastructure facilities, including roads, drinking water, sanitation, sewerage, lighting, parking and camping areas is being carried out at a rapid pace in the mela area.

In the meeting, ascetics from various akharas offered their suggestions regarding the Kumbh arrangements and appreciated the government’s preparations, assuring full cooperation.

The fair officer Sonika, while providing information on the progress of construction work, urged the akharas to provide necessary information and suggestions in a timely manner. The district magistrate Mayur Dixit, IG Kumbh Yogendra Singh Rawat and SSP Kumbh Ayush Agarwal were among the senior officials present at the meeting.
