The State sports minister Rekha Arya inaugurated the mini stadium in the Tarikhet block of Ranikhet in Almora district on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that as there was no stadium in the area, the players and the sports enthusiasts used to face numerous challenges and had to travel to other places for their practice.
“With the inauguration of this mini stadium, the players will now have better access to sports facilities in their area,” she said, adding that the State government helmed by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been tirelessly working to support sports and players, including providing government jobs for the players. She further said that a host of schemes aimed at honing sports talent inherent in boys and girls of the State is being implemented.
Speaking about the upcoming 38th National Games slated later this year in Uttarakhand, Arya claimed that preparations for the 38th National Games have been completed.
