Assistant professors appointed in Haldwani & Pithoragarh medical colleges

The Medical Education department has appointed six specialist doctors as assistant professors in the government medical colleges of the State. These new appointments have been made in the government medical colleges of Haldwani and Pithoragarh.
A selection committee headed by the vice chancellor of the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University had recently selected these candidates after conducting walk-in interviews for these posts. For the government medical college, Haldwani, the committee has selected Dr Nikita Deupa as assistant professor in the department of psychiatry, Dr Ravi Singh and Dr Sudhir Kumar Verma as assistant professors in the department of surgery and Dr Satyendra Gupta in the department of Paediatrics.
Similarly Dr Yogesh Kumar Gupta and Dr Samir Pandey will be appointed as assistant professors in the departments of orthopaedics and dental diseases respectively in the government medical college, Pithoragarh. All these appointments have been made for a period of three years or till the appointment of permanent faculty members on these posts.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the appointment of these faculty members will strengthen the Haldwani and Pithoragarh medical colleges. He said the new faculty members will not only help in creating a better academic environment in these colleges but will also ensure better medical facilities to the patients.
