The family members of Babita Pandey, a resident of Ramnagar, are anxiously waiting and praying for her safe return. “We pray in the day and remain sleepless in the night, hoping for some good news,” said Babita’s father, Gopal Pandey while speaking to The Pioneer. Notably, he is a differently abled person.
Babita’s family members said that fond of trekking, she had earlier participated in treks at several mountainous locations. “This was her second trek to Dayara Bugyal,” said her grandmother, Nandi Pandey. Her brother, Harshit Pandey also said that Babita loves the mountains. “The Himalayas seem to beckon her,” he added. Importantly, her mother and another brother are at the site, assisting the rescue teams in the ongoing search operation.
