The State Health department has appointed chief medical officers (CMO) in seven districts of the State. The department has appointed Dr Yogesh Purohit as CMO of Almora, Dr Rashmi Pant as CMO of Nainital and Dr Harish Chandra Pant as CMO of Pithoragarh.
Similarly, Dr Meghna Aswal will be the CMO of Pauri, Dr Amit Kumar Shukla CMO of Rudraprayag, Dr Ram Prakash CMO, Tehri and Dr Shyam Vijay will be the CMO of Uttarkashi. The appointments have been done on the orders of the Health secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey.
According to officials, these appointments aim to strengthen the State’s health system, improve the quality of medical services and provide better health facilities to the general public.
The Health secretary has expressed confidence that the health system in the concerned districts will become stronger by these appointments allowing the general public to benefit from improved medical facilities.
