The fifth batch of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims left Dharchula for Chaukori on Saturday, marking the final leg of the Yatra in Pithoragarh district before proceeding via Almora to Delhi. The group will halt overnight at the KMVN guest house in Chaukori.
So far, 237 pilgrims (171 men and 66 women) in five batches have successfully passed through Pithoragarh.
Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) managing director Vineet Tomar credited the smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra to the coordinated efforts of the district administration, ITBP, BRO, NDRF, SDRF, the Health department and other agencies. He noted that despite challenges such as weather disruptions, roadblocks and early evacuation of a few pilgrims, the collective teamwork ensured that “every pilgrim, whom we treated as a VVIP, completed the journey safely”.
Tomar added that this year’s coordination was among the best, enabling the Yatra to conclude without major disruptions. He extended his gratitude and congratulations on behalf of the KMVN to all supporting institutions.
