Bari murder suspect held in Mori after evading police

Four days after a 38-year-old man was hacked to death in Bari village under Mori block, a joint team of police and Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended the accused from Mori town.

Notably, Karamchand, a resident of Bari village, had been murdered with an axe on September 7.  Upon receiving information about the incident, police, field units and a forensic team, led by Mori station house officer Deepak Rawat, arrived at the scene. However, the accused fled after the crime.

On September 8, a murder case was registered at Mori police station based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s wife.

The accused has been identified Suman Chandra Dev (20), resident of Dantadhar Tok, Bari, was arrested from Mori on Friday, police said, adding that the murder suspect is being presented in court.
