PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun
Dehradun district officials informed that 15,000 domestic gas cylinders were supplied to consumers, while 369 commercial cylinders were also delivered on Sunday. However, there is still a backlog of around 88,000 domestic cylinders in the district.
Quick response teams carried out inspections of gas agencies and checked the demand and supply of LPG cylinders. During the drive, officials reviewed all activities related to gas distribution to ensure that people receive cylinders on time. According to officials, a total of 12 complaints related to LPG supply were received through helpline and WhatsApp numbers. The Food and Civil Supplies department in the district claims to be taking prompt action on these complaints. Officials said that the backlog was caused due to a technical problem in the booking software for three days. During that time, entries were made manually, and they are now being updated in the system.
The administration has said that efforts are being made to increase the supply of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders to clear the backlog as soon as possible.
