Be prepared- very heavy rain likely in 8 districts today

The State meteorological centre has issued an orange warning (Be Prepared) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms/ lightning/very intense to extremely intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital Haridwar, Udham singh Nagar and Champawat districts on Wednesday. It has also issued a yellow alert (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms/lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. The Dehradun district administration has announced a holiday in schools today considering the weather warning. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/ thundershowers are likely to occur, very Heavy Rainfall likely to occur in parts of the city. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33°C and 23°C.
Meanwhile, light rain was reported in some parts of the State on Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.4 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.5 degrees Celsius and 27.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.5 degrees Celsius and 16.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
