The MLA seeks public apology for folly of his son

In a startling revelation, the Udham Singh Nagar police has said that Saurabh Behed, the son of Congress MLA and former cabinet minister Tilak Raj Behed had fabricated the entire story involving an attack on him. After four days of intensive investigation, the Police have made it clear that Saurabh Behed was not attacked by anyone but rather he himself orchestrated the entire attack with the help of his friend.
Police have arrested four youths, including the mastermind of this fake attack. It is noteworthy that the news of the attack on Saurabh Behed on the evening of January 18 on the main road of Awas Vikas caused a stir in the area. It was alleged that three youths on a motorcycle kicked his scooter, causing him to fall and then assaulted him before fleeing from the spot. Saurabh Behed was admitted to the hospital in an injured condition where a large crowd of supporters, including leaders from the Congress and other political parties including the BJP, gathered. A protest meeting was also held at Tilak Raj Behed’s residence.
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manikant Mishra set up a Special Operations Group (SOG) to investigate the case. The investigation revealed that Saurabh Behed, along with his close friend, Inder Narang had staged the attack. According to the police, Inder Narang, at Saurabh’s behest, involved three other young men in the conspiracy. The interrogation revealed that Saurabh wanted to turn a family dispute in his favour and garner sympathy and the entire plot was crafted for this purpose. The accused were instructed to cover their faces and remove their bike number plates to conceal their identities. SSP Mishra stated that four men, including Inder Narang, a resident of Ghasmandi, Deepak, and Vansh, residents of Thakur Nagar, have been arrested in this case. Two pistols and a knife have also been recovered from the accused.
Following the startling disclosure, an emotional Tilak Raj Behed convened a press conference in Rudrapur in which he sought public apology for the incident. He also announced to sever all relations with his son.
