Beneficiaries of Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana & NGY to get payments in Feb first week

The Women’s Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister, Rekha Arya announced that the beneficiaries of Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana and Nanda Gaura Yojana (NGY) would receive their payments in the first week of February. This update was shared during a meeting at the Secretariat on Monday during which she reviewed various departmental schemes.
Arya said that the beneficiary list for 11 districts under the NGY has been completed, comprising 34,852 female students who have passed their intermediate exams and 6,021 newborn girls. A programme is scheduled for the first week of February to distribute the funds to these beneficiaries, she said.
Also, she instructed the beneficiary lists for the other two districts be finalised promptly.
She said that a list of 504 eligible women has been finalised under the Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana with funds scheduled to be distributed to them in the first week of February. Additionally, the process of finalising the list of 331 eligible candidates from two districts under this scheme is still ongoing, but will be completed soon.
Arya said that Anganwadi workers would receive retirement assistance of Rs 1,00,000 from the Anganwadi Welfare Fund starting April 1 and this amount is set to increase in the upcoming financial year.
She further informed that a new initiative is being created to offer economic, social, medical and emotional support to elderly women in the State. During the meeting, she directed officials to conduct a survey of elderly women in villages to shape the scheme’s structure. She emphasised that the final plan would be developed based on consultations with those who will benefit from it.
