Bharatiya Shiksha Board’s first national sports fest begins at Patanjali

The first national sports festival of the Bharatiya Shiksha Board (BSB) was inaugurated at Acharyakulam here on Sunday. Yoga guru Swami Ramdev and BSB executive head NP Singh and others formally inaugurated the event. Welcoming the participants from affiliated institutions from across India, Ramdev said that an all round vision is needed for the proper development of children. It is with this vision that the BSB has moved forward bearing the flag of Bharat and ‘Bharatiyata’, he said.
The national sports festival is seeing the participation of 59 teams from 30 schools from across India. Wrestling, judo and Malkhamb were held at Patanjali Gurukulam while basketball, handball and kabaddi competitions were held at Acharyakulam. Singh informed that volleyball competition will be organised on November 13 and 14 at GSS inter college in Agra, athletics and badminton competitions will be held on November 17 and 18 at Lalbagh Isabella Thoburn school in Lucknow while Yoga and kho-kho competitions will be held on November 21 and 22 at the American International School in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He said that in addition to boosting the physical development of children, sports is also a good medium for mental and character development.
