Following the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the district administration — under the aegis of the Social Welfare Department — will organise large-scale camps for senior citizens and persons with disabilities from December 4 to December 11 in Dehradun. The primary objective of these camps is to provide assistive devices that can enhance daily living and promote self-reliance among elderly and disabled individuals. Eligible beneficiaries will be registered at the camps, where medical examinations will be conducted to determine the assistive devices suited to their needs. Devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, hearing aids, and tricycles will be distributed free of cost.

District Social Welfare Officer Deepanker Ghildiyal shared details of the camp schedule. According to him, camps will be held at the following locations:
• December 4 – Raipur Block Auditorium
• December 5 – Sahaspur Block Auditorium
• December 6 – Panchayat Bhawan, Sabhawala, Vikas Nagar
• December 7 – Milan Kendra, Dudhli, Doiwala
• December 9 – Municipal Corporation Rishikesh (MCR) Auditorium
• December 10 – Mussoorie Municipal Council Auditorium
• December 11 – Sardar Mahipal Rajendra Janjatiya PG College, Sahiya (Kalsi)

He further informed that applicants will be screened under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) for senior citizens and the ADIP Scheme for persons with disabilities. Disabled applicants must present a copy of their UDID card (Unique Disability ID) and a monthly income certificate of ₹22,500, issued by the village head, councillor, or local authority. Senior citizens must provide a copy of their Aadhaar card along with a monthly income certificate of ₹15,000 issued by the village head for seamless registration.

Ghildiyal emphasised that persons with disabilities eligible under the Central Government’s ADIP Scheme and senior citizens aged 60 years and above under the RVY will be registered at these camps. “These camps aim to facilitate the registration of elderly and disabled individuals across the Dehradun district, with a total of seven camps covering all blocks and municipal areas,” he said.
