The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organised the ‘Industry Sensitisation Programme and Standard Manthan’ in collaboration with the Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) in which the leading industrialists of the region, especially the entrepreneurs associated with the plywood and wood-based panel product sector, participated. Among the dignitaries present was the former Union minister and MP, Ajay Bhatt and the director, BIS Dehradun, Saurabh Tiwari.
Inaugurating the programme, KGCCI president Ashok Bansal said that such programmes act as a bridge between the industry and the government. He urged the entrepreneurs to adopt the quality standards set by BIS and prepare their products for global competition.
