The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the BJP has no role in Rahul Gandhi losing his membership of the Lok Sabha. The decision on his disqualification was effective after the decision of the court and resulted in him losing his membership. Bhatt said that Rahul Gandhi is himself responsible for this situation because he could also have sought an apology from the OBC community but he did not do so due to his ego. The Congress leaders are also struck by pride and calling his statement correct.
The BJP State president said, “It appears as if the Congress also wanted him to lose his membership because in the case of party leader Pawan Khera they approached the Supreme Court within 15 minutes but remained silent in Rahul’s case. He had insulted the OBC community and after the full judicial process was followed, the court found him guilty and handed out the sentence. Now, as part of the constitutional process, he has lost his Lok Sabha membership. However, the Congress is playing politics and opposing the constitutional process. In the past the Congress has crushed constitutional institutions. The late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi refused to accept the Allahabad High Court decision to disqualify her and the Congress forced the emergency upon the nation. It is a matter of concern that even today the Congress has retained its anti-democracy tendency which is why it is staging demonstrations across the nation with its leaders making illogical statements.”
Bhatt said that Rahul Gandhi is currently out on bail in various other corruption and defamation cases. As far as the public is concerned, it has already punished the Congress by rejecting it in the Lok Sabha and other elections, he added.
