BJP questions Congress for politicising parliament security breach

Monday, 18 December  2023  | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has stated that the opposition making the recent security breach in the parliament a political issue before completion of the investigation raises suspicion.  He said that these very people used to stand in the Supreme Court to save Afzal Guru, the accused in the Parliament attack and even now they are stating that the recent attempt to terrorise the parliament was justified.

Responding to allegations of ‘saffronisation’ of education, Bhatt said that the Congress members who live with a slave mentality are bound to feel so when the traditions of courage are included in education. Reacting to statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former chief minister Harish Rawat, the BJP State president said that just like the name ‘Bhagat Singh Fans’ doesn’t make members of the group Bhagat Singh, those linking anti-national efforts to angst of the youths cannot be followers of Bhagat Singh. “It is unfortunate that all Congress leaders are making contradictory statements according to their convenience on this incident related to the nation’s unity and security. Their leaders sitting in Delhi are stating that the youth involved in the security breach are lost and angry youth. Rahul Gandhi connected this incident to inflation and unemployment, crossing all limits of opposing the nation to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Congress leaders in Uttarakhand are criticising this incident off the record but on social media, they are speaking against those criticising this incident,” Bhatt said.

The BJP State president further said that the Lok Sabha speaker and the government have made it clear that a high level investigation of the incident is being carried out. Considering this, all should refrain from making statements till the findings of the investigation are known.
