The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the VB-G RAM G will affect a rise in the guaranteed working days, budget, digitalisation and protection from corruption. However, the Congress seems to lack the sense to understand this. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that rural employment guarantee schemes were introduced more than a dozen times with these being named after Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru but this didn’t elicit any objection. The Congress doesn’t really care about Gandhi but is bothered by the scheme’s name having lord Ram’s name, Bhatt said.

Responding to allegations levelled by the Congress, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for a developed India during the past 10 years and now the focus is on enhancing the efforts upon the foundation with new schemes, which the opposition is unable to digest. Referring to the scheme in question, he said that it will enhance the situation in every sector. The guaranteed employment is now 125 days, 25 days more than the previous provision. There will be about 30 per cent increase in the funds received from the centre annually

Elaborating upon the benefits of the scheme, the BJP State president said that all aspects of employment in rural areas will witness a rise. “Considering the baseless allegations being levelled by the Congress, it seems as if the party is lacking in thought and understanding. The opposition probably understands that it does not want a corruption-free and technically able government in the States where it is in office. This is why the Congress is simply trying to erect hurdles and spread confusion to hamper the development of the nation,” Bhatt added.
