PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The war of words between ruling BJP and opposition Congress in the State has intensified ahead of the visit of leader of opposition (LOP) Rahul Gandhi.

Retaliating to the BJP charge that Gandhi is remembering the ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand due to the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana said distraught over the visit of LOP, the BJP is making baseless accusations about his dialogue with ex-servicemen in Pauri.

Dhasmana said that the BJP should know that Gandhi had visited the residences of martyred Major Chitresh Bisht and Major Vibhuti Dhoundiyal in Dehradun. He said that after Pathankot, Uri, Pulwama or Pahalgam,  Gandhi always questioned the government’s failures but never blamed the army. Dhasmana said that during Operation Sindoor, Gandhi immediately extended full support to the government.

He said that Gandhi has termed the Central government’s Agnipath scheme as a huge mistake for the security of the country and he has resolved that as soon as the Congress government is formed at the Centre, the Agnipath scheme will be abolished.
