Bharatiya Janata Party said that any attack on the peace and character of Uttarakhand is unacceptable and no one will be allowed to spread extremism or disturb public order. The State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt stated that the government will not allow anyone to undermine law and order, whether through offensive social media posts or taking the law into their own hands.
He said the recent incident, which involved attempts to incite religious tension in Dehradun was unacceptable. Police took immediate action against the accused and Bhatt praised the administration for handling the case and taking strict steps against the conspirators. He stated that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government will deal firmly with any such elements. He added that the government follows a zero-tolerance policy on law and order issues. Dhami is committed to preventing attempts to disturb the environment and image of Devbhoomi.
Bhatt said that laws against religious conversion, riots and in support of maintaining Uttarakhand’s character have already been enforced. The police action in the capital sends a clear message to those with disruptive intentions. He said that all elements attempting to disturb peace, incite communal tension or alter the State’s character will not be tolerated.
