BJP says Congress exploiting youths’ issues for political gains

“Congress has never aimed to resolve the issues of the youth but has always tried to complicate them and present them as political matters,” the Bharatiya Janata Party State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said while reacting to the Congress protest march and statements on the recent recruitment irregularities on Friday.

Chauhan said that Congress is unable to accept that the demand for a CBI probe, raised by the youth, has been met by the government. He added that this is why the party is now engaged in unnecessary criticism. According to him, Congress neither wanted the demand for a CBI investigation to be fulfilled nor expected the government to approve it. Once the investigation was ordered, Congress changed its stand and began questioning the decision, despite having been the one to demand it earlier.

He said that Congress could have appreciated the step as the youth welcomed the decision but instead it chose confrontation. Chauhan rejected the Congress allegation regarding postponement of examinations, stating that this matter lies with the recruitment commission, which has already reached a consensus. He said that youth are aware of this but Congress is pretending otherwise as it sees no benefit in the decision.

He stated that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accepted the demand of the unemployed youth with humility and without trying to claim personal credit while Congress is attempting to turn it into a matter of political credit.

The youth did not fall into Congress’s plan and the party is resorting to its old tactics. He further said that during Congress’s tenure, several recruitment scams took place but the party remained silent and took no action. In contrast, the Dhami government has acted under a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and sent mafia elements behind bars, he added.
