Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh reviewed the ongoing organisational programmes of BJP, Uttarakhand at an organisational meeting held here on Sunday. He held detailed discussions on the road ahead and guided the office-bearers present. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the BJP will realise the dream of Viksit Bharat with the participation of the public.

In an interaction before the meeting, with chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt, detailed discussions were held on realising the goal of a Viksit Bharat through people’s participation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and on further strengthening the spirit of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Chugh congratulated Maharashtra’s chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on implementing a historic farm loan waiver scheme worth Rs 36,585 crore. He said that this decision, which brings major relief to lakhs of farmers in the State, is powerful proof of the farmer-friendly vision of the double-engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Launching a sharp attack on Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann, Chugh asked when the electoral promise of a complete farm loan waiver would finally be fulfilled. He said the farmer of Punjab remains crushed under the burden of debt, crop distress and false assurances, and asked how long a government that makes promises will keep running away from accountability.

In the organisational meeting Chugh said that party workers must focus on each booth and every vote in view of the coming Vidhan Sabha elections. Appreciating the works done by the State government, he said that the atmosphere is conducive for the BJP in Uttarakhand. “We have to win the highest number of Vidhan Sabha seats so far. With the strength of the party workers and the government’s achievements, we broke the trend of alternating parties in government. We now have to make Uttarakhand an unbreachable fort for the BJP,” he said.Addressing the gathering, Dhami exhorted the party workers to discharge their organisational responsibilities with diligence. BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that efforts for ensuring a voter list free from errors are aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is able to cast his vote while no ineligible voter is on the list.
