BJP to release its ULB poll manifesto today

The Bharatiya Janata Party will release its manifesto for the ensuing municipal elections on Wednesday in the presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

According to BJP State general secretary Aditya Kothari, the manifesto will describe the achievements of the ‘double-engine’ government as well as the party’s vision for municipal governance. Kothari stated that the manifesto has been meticulously prepared after thorough deliberations and public consultations. It comprises a State-level manifesto alongside separate, tailored manifestos for all 11 municipal corporations in the State.

The CM, along with his cabinet colleagues, party office-bearers, legislators and senior workers, will make the manifesto public, outlining not only the accomplishments of the BJP-led government but also the initiatives planned for the development of municipal bodies. Emphasising on the unique nature of the manifesto, Kothari said that the challenges and requirements of each municipal body differ considering which, the BJP has prepared a comprehensive State manifesto along with specific documents for each municipal corporation. Following the launch at the headquarters, similar programmes will be conducted across districts and municipal areas to present the manifesto to the public. These events will be attended by local legislators, party in-charges, and officials responsible for municipal governance.

Kothari also said that the BJP will intensify its efforts in the final phase under Dhami’s leadership. The campaign will kick off in Karnprayag, with Dhami slated to hold 28 public meetings and roadshows across the State. The other star campaigners will also participate in over 200 events in the Garhwal region, including rallies, roadshows, Padyatras, public outreach initiatives and cultural programmes. Responding to rumours regarding Congress MLA Mayukh Mahar joining the BJP, Kothari clarified that the party is open to welcoming individuals who align with its ideology and are committed to contributing to the development of the state and the nation. He stated that over 15,000 Congress workers have joined the BJP since the last Lok Sabha elections, with many Congress leaders currently in touch with the BJP leadership. Decisions regarding their inclusion will be taken after careful consideration, he added.
