Cabinet approves creation of 82 new posts for Kumbh Mela office

The Uttarakhand government has started making preparations for the Kumbh Mela scheduled to be held in Haridwar in 2027. The State administration has created 82 new posts in the Mela office for different arrangements during the Kumbh.
A proposal in this regard was endorsed by the State cabinet held at the State secretariat on Wednesday. As per the proposal, nine permanent, 44 temporary and 29 outsource posts will be created in the Mela office.
In another decision, the cabinet accepted the demand of the teacher organisations for increasing the maximum age limit for departmental examination for the posts of headmasters in the Education department of the State. The maximum age has been increased from existing 50 years to 55 years.
The cabinet approved the proposal to make changes in the service regulations of the government teachers (gazetted). Teachers working on the posts of Lecturers for a period of 10 years will be eligible to participate in the departmental examination for the post of headmaster. Similarly licentiate teachers who have completed 15 years of service will also be eligible for the post of headmaster. The lecturers who don’t have the B.Ed degree will also be eligible to take part in the first departmental examination for headmasters.
The cabinet also gave its approval to the proposal to notify Custom Bonds in the Uttarakhand Stamp ( e- stamp) regulations 202. This will enable people to make electronic payment for custom duties.
