In latest news from Doon, seals of approval were given on a slew of proposals in the course of the cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held in the Secretariat. It is learnt that among the important proposals approved are the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill and the one related to land to be provided free to the NITT campus in Sumari in Pauri Garhwal. Besides, the cabinet approved amendments to the State’s housing policy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as per which the government will provide Rs 1.5 lakh instead of the previous Rs 1 lakh as support to the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will be selected through lottery and payment to the builders will be made in nine installments.
