In Dehradun latest news, nine persons, including four children, had a narrow escape when the car they were travelling in suddenly caught fire near Kolukhet water bend along the Mussoorie-Dehradun road and kept moving on while on flame. On receiving the news, Mussoorie police and fire service personnel rushed to the site and put out the flame. However, meanwhile, the car was reduced to ashes. The car was going back to Saharanpur from Mussoorie when the incident happened. The car though burning was on the move and those travelling in it managed to come out.
Police informed that the nine travellors included three women and four children. Cars got stuck on both sides of the road in the aftermath of the incident.
Recounting the incident, the car owner Dharmendra Pratap Singh said that as his family was returning to Saharanpur after Mussoorie trip, they found fire coming of the car’s bonnet. “We somehow managed to come out of the moving, burning car. But the fire intensified and completely burnt down the car,” he added.
The Mussoorie police station in-charge Shankar Singh Bisht said that the matter was being probed.
