Census -2027 to begin in Uttarakhand with house counting on April 25

The first phase of Census-2027 in Uttarakhand will commence on April 25 with house listing and housing census.
Informing about the census plan in the State, the secretary Census Deepak Kumar Gairola told media persons that the government has deployed 30,000 enumerators for the house census. He said that from April 25 to May 24, these enumerators will visit every household in all the districts of the State.
Gairola added that the government has provided the facility of self-enumeration which is commencing from April 10 and end on April 24. He said that the facility allows residents to log in to the portal http://se.census.gov.in using their mobile numbers and basic credentials, thereby enabling them to easily and digitally record their details themselves before the enumerator arrives. Self-Enumeration is a secure, web-based facility available in 16 regional languages, he said.
These personnel will conduct door-to-door enumeration across approximately 32,000 house-listing blocks.
In the house census, detailed information regarding housing conditions, household amenities and available assets will be collected.
The secretary informed that the second phase of the Census-2027 will commence from February 9 in the State. He said that the census work will be mobile application based.
The director of Census, Eva Ashish Srivastava informed that the census exercise will officially commence on April 10, with the self-enumeration of the Governor, lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh. She said that the house census in 131 villages and three urban centres in the snow bound areas of the State in the month of September. She further informed all the enumerators will be provided with a special ID card having a QR code.
