CEO directs DMs to finalise preparation for SIR in Uttarakhand

The Election Commission of India has started making necessary preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Uttarakhand. On Tuesday the chief electoral officer BVRC Purushottam held a review meeting with the district magistrates of all districts through video conference at the secretariat. The CEO reviewed the preparations for the upcoming SIR in the State.
He directed that all districts should finalise their preparations for SIR and expedite mapping work. He also directed that forms six, seven and eight should be reviewed and executed daily. The CEO said that the absent, shifted and dead (ASD) list should be prepared at each booth must be shared with the booth level agents (BLAs) of the political parties. He directed that the ASD list be made available to all BLAs within the next week.
Purushottam also conducted a detailed review of the printing, logistics and distribution plans for the counting forms for all districts. He directed that all DMs should meet with the municipal commissioners of their respective municipal corporations within the next week to further enhance the effectiveness of the SIR plan. Furthermore, training programmes for BLOs should be conducted more effectively.
Additional CEO Vijay Kumar Jogdande, joint CEO Prakash Chandra Dumka and other officers attended the meeting.
