The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Tuesday carried out a Swachh Survekshan 2026 feedback drive at Doon University, stepping up efforts to increase citizen participation ahead of the cleanliness survey.
Teams set up kiosks on campus where students and staff were guided to submit their feedback using QR codes. Municipal commissioner Namami Bansal said that about 20 supervisors were deployed at the university for the exercise.
She also discussed ongoing sanitation work, including door-to-door waste collection and waste segregation. The main focus was on encouraging more people to register their feedback, which directly impacts the city’s ranking. Students were shown how to fill out the forms online and many registered on the spot. Bansal stated that MCD is now planning to take similar drives to other colleges, markets and residential areas in the coming days. She said that Dehradun’s ranking depends not just on groundwork but also on how actively people participate in the survey. In the past, feedback numbers have been relatively low compared to bigger cities, which has affected the overall score.
