The Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana reached Badrinath Dham and took stock of the Char dham Yatra arrangements. Also, he conducted an on-site inspection of the reconstruction works now being carried out under the Badrinath Master Plan.
The DM asked the officers concerned to ensure that before the Chardham Yatra commences, the token counter, queue management system, waiting room and internal ways leading to the temple premises are repaired. He also said that the railings and signage should be installed along the route for the convenience of the pilgrims. Further, he said that the basic arrangements involving electricity, drinking water and toilets are made at the earliest. He stressed on the debris coming out of the construction works being cleaned from around the temple premises. During the visit, the DM inspected the newly constructed shops for the displaced shopkeepers according to the master plan.
Besides, he inspected the separate entry and exit gates for the pilgrims. He also reviewed the token system for worship that is being introduced.
During the inspection, DM directed the construction agencies to complete works at the earliest through deploying whatever resources they have.
