Char Dham Yatra: Uttarkashi police meet hotel, restaurant operators

Ahead of the Char Dham Yatra, Uttarkashi police have intensified their preparations to ensure smooth and safe pilgrimage arrangements in the district. Under the direction of the superintendent of police Kamlesh Upadhyay, discussions are being held regarding travel routes, traffic management and pilgrim convenience. In this sequence, the Kotwali inspector-in-charge, Dinesh Kumar held a meeting with the owners and operators of hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other commercial establishments operating in the Uttarkashi town area.

The inspector in charge urged all to behave well with the pilgrims and tourists. He also instructed all establishment operators to maintain cleanliness around their premises, prohibit consumption of any type of intoxicant and ensure that vehicles are parked only in designated parking areas. Strict instructions were also given to refrain from encroaching on highways and roadsides.

For security reasons, hotel and restaurant operators were instructed to maintain complete records, identity cards and registers of pilgrims staying there. Special emphasis was also placed on ensuring the smooth functioning of CCTV cameras in all establishments during the Yatra. To strengthen coordination, essential police and police station contact numbers were also shared to ensure prompt action in case of any emergency.

During the meeting, an awareness campaign was also launched regarding the current rise in cyber fraud cases. Police advised all attendees to be vigilant against cybercrimes, avoid suspicious calls and links and immediately contact the cyber helpline number 1930 in case of any fraud.
