Arriving here on Sunday, the new Tehri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey said that maintaining a strong law and order situation, effective control on crime and strengthening the sense of security among the general public are her top priorities.
Chairing a meeting with police officials, she directed them to discharge their duties with dedication and honesty while maintaining a sensitive and cordial behaviour towards the public. The SSP also inspected the various branches of the police and issued directions regarding documentation, work culture and other arrangements. Choubey laid emphasis on enhancing transparency, punctuality and technical skills in work. She further said that campaigns being undertaken in the district especially those against drug abuse, cyber crime, women’s safety and traffic should be executive in a more effective manner. The police in the district should also accord priority to community policing programmes for further strengthening communication between the police and public, the SSP added.
Earlier, she offered prayers at the Bhadrakali temple before formally assuming charge.
