CM Dhami congratulates people of U’khand on foundation day

Greeting the people of the State on the occasion of the Foundation day, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Uttarakhand is taking rapid strides on the path of development. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity towards the State and the central government is providing full cooperation to the State.
The CM said that more than 45 lakh pilgrims visited the State for the Char Dham Yatra this year which is 35 per cent more than last year’s number. He said that unprecedented work in increasing connectivity in the State has occurred in the State and its effect would be visible in the form of social and economic development in the coming years. He informed that the construction of Rudrapur and Rampur- Moradabad bypass would set up new dimensions in the development of Kumaon region. Work on Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail project is going on at a fast pace and the Union government has given its approval for the surveys of the Tanakpur- Bageshwar and Doiwala to Gangotri – Yamunotri rail connection.
The State has also moved ahead in increasing air connectivity. Dhami said that PM Modi during his visit to Mana village on October 21 had made an appeal to the pilgrims that they should spend five per cent of their travel budget on buying local products during their visit. He said that crores of people visit the State for religious purposes and for tourism and the products purchased by them would strengthen the State’s economy. The CM said that transfer of 45.33 acres of land from HMT to the State government is another gift from the Union government. Dhami said that the State government has taken strict action on those involved in recruitment scams and has handed over the task of many recruitment examinations to the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) from the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSC). The government has released a calendar of recruitment and the process of recruitment on seven thousand posts is currently in progress.
The CM said that PM Modi has expressed confidence that the third decade of 21st century would belong to Uttarakhand and the State government has adopted a mantra of commitment sans alternative to make Uttarakhand a leading state in every sector by the year 2025.
