CM directs effective measures to save people from cold wave

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the senior officers of the State administration to take effective measures to protect the people from the cold wave. He said that all the necessary facilities should be made available for those staying in night shelters in the districts.
The CM directed that the senior officers, the district magistrates and senior/superintendents of police should periodically inspect the arrangements of the night shelters. Chairing a review meeting on the preparations of the administration on cold wave at the secretariat on Monday, Dhami said that in view of the cold wave, blankets, gloves, socks and other essential items should be made available to the needy. He said that people should also be informed about the places where bonfires have been arranged at night in the districts.
The CM directed the officers to ensure that the roads are not blocked for a long time due to snowfall. In the areas where there is heavy snowfall, proper management of the necessary resources should be done to remove snow from the roads. He also asked the DMs to keep data of pregnant women in the districts so that in case of any emergency, medical facilities can be provided to them as soon as possible. He also instructed the officers to make necessary arrangements for stray cattle in view of the cold wave. The CM sought information from all the DMs about the arrangements made in the districts to protect people from the cold wave. He also directed the officers to make necessary arrangements for the convenience of the devotees at the winter abodes of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri.
Disaster Management secretary Vinod Kumar Suman gave detailed information about various works being done in the state to protect the people from the cold wave.
The deputy chairman of State disaster management advisory committee Vinay Rohila, chief secretary Radha Raturi, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, DGP Deepam Seth, head of forest force Dhananjai Mohan and other officials were present in the meeting.
