CM extends Igas greetings, emphasises cultural significance

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of the Igas festival and encouraged them to promote their folk traditions and culture. In the eve if the festival, he emphasised that the state’s folk culture and traditions are integral to its identity. Dhami noted that the folk culture and traditions of any state represent its soul and the Igas festival is a vital part of this heritage. These folk festivals and rich cultural practices add vibrancy to social life.
He further appealed to the citizens to work together to advance their folk culture and traditions. The cultural heritage and pride of the entire country are being restored, as the people of Uttarakhand celebrate the Igas festival with great enthusiasm. Dhami further added that one of the resolutions of “Panch Pran” during the Amrit Kaal of Independence is to take pride in our heritage and culture. He also announced that a public holiday has been instituted for the Igas festival to allow people to connect with their ancestral villages and traditions. Apart from this, he urged efforts to engage the younger generation with their folk culture and festivals. Additionally, he called upon migrant residents of Uttarakhand to celebrate the Igas festival in their villages and contribute to the state’s development. Additionally, he wished happiness, peace and prosperity for the people of Uttarakhand.
