Stresses on observance of Covid guidelines in Kumbh Mela
Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that considering Covid-19, all necessary precautions will be observed while ensuring a divine and grand Kumbh Mela. The CM said this after inaugurating 31 schemes of various departments worth Rs 153.73 crore under the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar on Tuesday. Rawat also inspected Chandighat, Har Ki Paidi, various camps and Ghats along with the media centre on the occasion. He told officials that no shortcoming will be tolerated in the Kumbh.
The CM said that the state government is working full time to ensure that all facilities are provided to the Akhadas. Stating that the government is with the religious fraternity, he said that the government will put in all effort in the short period. Pointing at the importance of the Haridwar Kumbh, he said that it should be divine and grand, while adding that it is also essential to follow the Covid guidelines. Stating that officials had served the public without caring for themselves during the Covid pandemic, he said that the officials who had done good work will be felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development minister Banshidhar Bhagat said that the works inaugurated by the CM will speed up development in Haridwar and the state. Vidhan Sabha speaker Prem Chand Agrawal said that after recovering from Covid, the CM had come to attend the Kumbh which shows his faith and seriousness.
Earlier the CM offered prayers at Har Ki Paidi.
