CM inaugurates Manjila Memorial Inter Cricket Tournament

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Manjul Singh Manjila Memorial Inter Cricket Tournament organised by the Uttaranchal Press Club at Maharana Pratap Sports College on Wednesday. On this occasion, he also played cricket with the players to encourage them and promote sportsmanship.

Speaking at the event, Dhami said that sports are very important for both physical and mental health. “Sports help young people learn discipline, teamwork, leadership and the spirit to face challenges,” he said, adding that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to improve sports facilities and provide better opportunities for players. 

He also said that under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, programmes like Khelo India and Fit India Movement are encouraging youngsters to take part in sports and live a healthy life. 

Several leaders and officials were present at the event, including cabinet minister Khajan Das, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, director of Sports Ashish Chauhan and DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari, along with members of the Uttaranchal Press Club and other guests.
