CM launches development works worth Rs 533 crore for Tehri district

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated various schemes and unveiled the foundation of other schemes totaling in value to Rs 533 crore for Tehri district on Saturday. During the programme held in Bauradi, he inaugurated development works worth Rs 158 crore and unveiled the foundation stones for development works worth Rs 365 crore for the district.
Dhami made various announcements on the occasion. He declared that the Tehri Hydro Engineering College would be given the form of IIT. A proposal to this effect will be sent to the Union government. For New Tehri city, a clean drinking water scheme will be built from Reeh. The picnic spot in New Tehri will be developed as an eco-park and operated for the convenience of tourists.The proposal for a medical college for Tehri area will also be sent to the Union government and the hospital will be expanded.Pedestrian suspension bridge will be constructed at Chham-Baldogi in Dhanaulti Assembly constituency while the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Thana will be upgraded to intermediate level. The Naikhari college in Devprayag will be made a campus of Sri Dev Suman University. Approval will be given to establish a college under Bhilangana area of Ghansali Assembly constituency. To tackle the problem of drinking water in 24 villages of Patti Bhadura of Pratapnagar, pumping scheme will be constructed from Balganga, said the CM.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand has become the fastest developing State and that the State government is working to make it an ideal State by 2025. The CM said that the government is working on the principle of Antyodaya with the aim of taking development to the last person. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of various schemes. The CM said that the nation’s most strict anti-copying law has been brought in Uttarakhand to crack down on elements which cheat in and facilitate paper leaks in recruitment examinations. During the programme, he also visited the exhibition put up by various departments on development works. Dhami also presented dummy cheques worth Rs 6.72 crore to 1,120 beneficiaries as the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. This amount was transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries through the digital medium.
